Maintenance Officer

Why this role is important

As a Maintenance Officer, you will play a key role in maintaining the functionality, safety, and appearance of our properties, offices, and construction sites. Your work will contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of our facilities by carrying out general maintenance, repairs, and minor installation works, ensuring that Company assets are maintained to a high standard.

What will the job look like

  • Carry out general maintenance and repair works across Company properties, offices, and construction sites.
  • Perform basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, tiling, masonry, and minor electrical repairs where appropriate.
  • Install, repair, and replace fixtures, fittings, doors, locks, shelving, furniture, and other building components.
  • Conduct routine inspections and proactively identify maintenance issues before they develop into major problems.
  • Support the Construction and Property teams with minor works, snagging, and defect rectification.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair requirements.
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are maintained in a safe, clean, and organised condition.
  • Coordinate with external contractors where specialised repairs are required.
  • Comply with Company policies and Health & Safety requirements.
  • Perform any other duties reasonably associated with the position as assigned by the Company.

Must-Have Skills

  • Previous experience in a similar maintenance role, preferably within the construction, real estate development, or facilities management industry.
  • Hands-on experience in general building maintenance and repair works.
  • Good working knowledge of basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, masonry, tiling, and minor electrical repairs.
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, proactive approach.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Basic understanding of Health & Safety practices.
  • Valid driving licence.

Good to Have Skills

  • Technical certification or vocational qualification in a relevant trade.
  • Experience working on residential or commercial construction projects.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
  • Ability to read basic technical drawings and maintenance instructions.
  • Familiarity with digital maintenance reporting tools or mobile work order systems.
  • Basic command of the English language.
